The Professional Brewing/Distilling Technology (PBDT) certificate program trains individuals to become productive brewers and distillers in those respective industries. This course is ideal for those considering entering into the industry or business sector. The only North American curriculum accredited by London’s prestigious Institute of Brewing and Distilling, these programs produce today’s industry leaders. The program supports students pursuing their first degree, those wanting to enhance a prior degree or those seeking professional or personal development in the field. With enrollment every fall, students will finish the program in 21 months for quick industry placement. The Institute includes a hands-on training fermentation facility supporting real-time learning and reflecting industry standards. The American Brewers Guild offers two courses: the Craft Brewers Apprenticeship (CBA) and the Intensive Brewing Science and Engineering Course. Learn the art and science of beer at Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) in beautiful BC! Students must be 21 years of age by the time of enrollment. Successful candidates receive IBD Certification. The classes will range from a Journeyman Brewer Class to Craft Malting to Technical Brewer.
